The Congregation of Mother of Carmel (C.M.C.), founded in 1866 by Blessed Chavara Kuriakose Elias and the Carmelite Missionary Fr. Leopold Beccaro, is the first indigenous Congregation of Kerala. Sad at the barrenness of Syro-Malabar Church of Kerala in nurturing saints, they founded our Congregation so that women also could have the same chance, as men to lead a consecrated life, love God and neighbor and serve with total commitment. Vimala College is a Christian College under the Management of the Nirmala Province, Thrissur, Kerala of C.M.C. (The Congregation of Mother Carmel) in the Roman Catholic Church. The College is under the religious jurisdiction of the Catholic Bishop of Thrissur. |

Dr. Sr. Lisy John Irimpan, the principal of Vimala College took charge of the college on 1st April 2008 after the retirement of Sr. Lekha. She had worked in Commerce Department and had also acquired M.Com, M.Phill and Ph.D in her respective field. |
